Schools:
Teaching a foreign language is becoming compulsory for primary schools in 2010, however the majority of primary school teachers are not Modern Foreign Languages specialists. Teaching a language for a non-specialist is not an easy matter and requires some guidance, help and/or training. It is why French 4 You offers a range of packages to help primary schools be prepared for this change – from providing French lessons for pupils to training staff to be able to teach French confidently themselves.
What we offer is a choice between 3 packages in order to prepare your school and staff to be ready for the 2010 deadline.
- The Tutoring package: One of our language tutors would come to your school and teach French to your staff on a one-to-one or small groups basis. The aim here is to teach the vocabulary and knowledge necessary for your staff to be able to deliver themselves the lessons as detailed in the Dfes French Scheme of Work
- The Pal Package: In this package, one of our language tutors would come to your school and assist the teacher during the delivery of the French lessons. The tutor will act like a French Assistant, however with a lot more experience, and will make sure the lessons run as smoothly as possible, correct pupil’s pronunciation and work as a team with the teacher.
- The Complete Package: In this package, one of our language tutors would come to your school and simply deliver the lessons himself. With this package you are sure that a specialist will teach French to your pupils, ensuring the best results.
Our language tutors all have an enhanced CRB diclosure allowing them to work with children.
